Laughter is Medicine.  Authentic connection is a powerful tool to get us through tough times.  Open-hearted presence and attention is a balm for hurting spirits.

Clowns have a long history of supporting people struggling with pain and trauma.  Therapeutic and hospital clowning has an long and lovely history in Canada.  Clowns Without Borders is an extraordinary international organization engaging clown and theatre artists to travel to refugee camps, war zones and disaster-affected areas to offer laughter, empathic witness and play to traumatized communities.  I am deeply inspired and moved by this work, and as I set out my intentions for Miss Marmot, this is a direction I want to travel in.

I am currently seeking mentorship and training opportunities in therapeutic clown, and doing active learning through my other offerings.  I hope to offer more of this work in the community in the future, and I invite collaboration and connection with organizations and institutions that might be interested in healing clown experiments in the West Kootenays.
